Brentwood School Makes a Splash at National Swimming Finals!

In a dazzling display of aquatic prowess, our Junior Girls’ Swim Team embarked on a thrilling journey to Birmingham for the English Schools’ Swimming Association National Finals on Saturday 18th November. The atmosphere was electric as the formidable quartet – comprising of the dynamic trio Eloise M, Ellie B-W, and Ore J (all Year 8) and rising star Ava W (Year 7) – geared up to face off against the nation’s crème de la crème.

Having earned their ticket to the finals at the Eastern Region Qualifiers back in September, the Brentwood team was hungry for victory. The tension reached a boiling point as they dove headfirst into the competition, eyes set on making a splash against the top swimmers in the country.

In a breathtaking showcase of skill and speed, the team soared through the water, leaving a trail of awe in their wake. The 4x50m freestyle relay witnessed a display of sheer brilliance as Brentwood clinched a phenomenal 7th place, with the medley relay seeing them power to a remarkable 9th place. In a field comprising 30 schools, the Brentwood girls not only held their own but emerged victorious with two sensational top-ten finishes!

This triumph is a testament to the dedication and skill of the entire team, who swam under the expert guidance of Mrs Watson, Head of Swimming.

Congratulations to Eloise M, Ellie B-W, Ore J, and Ava W, and a special shoutout to Mrs Watson for steering the team to this historic victory – our best results in a long time. Here’s to a future filled with more exhilarating triumphs in the pool!
