Pastoral Care & Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our boarders is paramount, so we make sure their home-from-home surroundings provide comfort, security and holistic student living.

Creating a Welcoming Haven

At Brentwood School, we maintain an environment that provides support in a peaceful, cheerful and friendly atmosphere.

Our new purpose-built Boarding House will be subdivided into three main sections; a girls’ and boys’ boarding house and a central shared communal area; the heartbeat of the house. Individual study bedrooms and en-suite shower rooms will offer a personalised space for academic focus and relaxation, and thoughtfully designed outdoor courtyards and landscaped spaces will provide a vibrant hub for social interaction and collaboration.

Our boarders will benefit hugely from this supportive environment and we can ensure that their boarding experience is a happy one. Find out more about the Brentwood School boarding experience below.

Exceptional Pastoral Care

Our pastoral care is outstanding and the safety of our students is our highest priority, we have an excellent team in place to support each boarding student individually.

Our Wellbeing programme supports the pastoral system and strengthens School aims, especially regarding relationships within the School community. Our excellent level of care was highly praised in an independent boarding inspection assessing National Child Care standards.

Our Wellbeing Dogs

Following increasing research into the positive impact of having animals in school to increase wellbeing and mental health, our students recognised the benefits of having a wellbeing dog on campus.

We now have four dedicated wellbeing dogs contributing to our students’ cognitive, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Visiting and interacting with our dogs offers comfort and relaxation away from the usual school environment.
