The Pathway to Success
The School offers three pathways in the Sixth Form: A Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and BTEC Extended Diplomas in Sport and Business.
These three pathways ensure that students can be placed on the courses to which they are best suited and allow them to flourish at Brentwood and beyond.
The statistics below represent the dedication and excellence of our teaching staff and the hard work and application of our students, and we are justifiably proud of their achievements.
Outstanding Results
The IB Diploma Class of 2024 at Brentwood returned an average of 38.3 points, which placed Brentwood School in the UK top 10. No fewer than 12 of the 31 IB Diploma students scored 40 points or more, with two securing the maximum total of 45.
132 students took A Level examinations at Brentwood and a strong set of results saw 37.2% graded A* or A. 10.7% of A Level results were A* and 72.0% of results were A*-B. The pass rate at A Level was 100%.
In 2024, all 31 BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved their first-choice outcome. 5 students attained the equivalent of A*A*A* and 10 students secured the equivalent of A*A*A. Our high-achieving BTEC cohort (26 in Business, five in Sport) are heading to a range of destinations, further illustrating the School’s aim to enable all students to achieve their best possible outcomes.
A Level Excellence
Among the many individual stories of success was Deputy Head of School, rugby-playing, Oxford-bound Faris F, one of those who has been at Brentwood since the age of three.
His 3 A*s secured him a place at New College, to study Arabic. Faris, who would be celebrating his stellar results with family, said:
“I am very grateful for all the support from teachers. I have been at Brentwood for 15 years and couldn’t have asked for a better school.”
Continuing the Tradition
Grace S, the youngest of four siblings to attend Brentwood, continued a family tradition that began with both her father and grandfather.
Grace, who secured D*DD in her Business BTEC and is heading to Oxford Brookes University to study International Tourism and Hospitality Management, said:
“I’m excited to say I’m finally an Old Brentwood!”
For dad, Paul, it was a bittersweet moment:
“It is the end of a 23-year era of sending our children to Brentwood School.”
We are very proud that every year the majority of our students are accepted to their first choice of university but recognise that university is not for everyone.
We are equally proud of our students who pursue different routes, whether these be apprenticeships or directly into the workplace and aim to ensure that all students have outstanding career guidance.
Twins Achieve Top IB Points
Twins Adnan and Salman Y reflected on their combined 30 years at the School, finishing in style with remarkable scores of 44 and 45 points respectively.
Both students recently won prestigious prizes at Speech Day and are looking forward to studying Medicine at Anglia Ruskin Medical School.
