Brentwood School is seeking a passionate and committed Graduate Assistant to support the effective delivery of an excellent programme of PE, Games and Co-Curricular Sport in the Senior School for a one-year full-time, term-time (plus 4 weeks in school holidays) contract. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals considering a future in teaching or coaching, offering a high-quality, supportive environment to develop professional and pedagogical skills. Graduate Assistants play a key role in our vibrant Co-Curricular Sports Programme, contributing to fixtures, training sessions, and mentoring students across both the Senior and Prep Schools.
The successful candidate will support in lesson learning through mentoring/coaching students, leading group work and as their teaching skills progress they take on team teaching and then solo teaching. In particular, we welcome applications from those with an interest in coaching, Strength and Conditioning and video analysis. Graduate Assistants, whilst based in a Senior School department, will spend a portion of their time in the Prep School working with the Prep School Sport Department.
Beyond coaching, Graduate Assistants are assigned a tutor group alongside the main tutor in order to develop their pastoral skills and a holistic view of education, contributing to House activities, and developing their pastoral skills.
